Rina Cutler
Deputy Mayor for Transportation and Utilities for the City of Philadelphia

Ms. Cutler has extensive experience in the management and operations of parking and transportation programs.  She is responsible for the coordination and oversight of all transportation functions in the City of Philadelphia as well as City utilities.  She also oversees the operations of the Streets Department, the Philadelphia Water Department, and the Philadelphia International Airport.  Ms. Cutler guards the City’s interests with a variety of transportation agencies including the Philadelphia Gas Works, SEPTA, the Parking Authority, the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, and the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority.  Prior to returning to Philadelphia, Ms. Cutler was the Deputy Secretary for Administration for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) for 5 years.  Her experience also includes Transportation Commissioner for the City of Boston, Director of Parking and Traffic for the City of San Francisco, and the Executive Director of the Philadelphia Parking Authority.   

Avi D. Eden
Consultant with a background in finance and law

Mr. Eden is currently Director of Bel Fuse, Inc., a manufacturer of electronic components for the computer, networking and telecommunication industries, and an Investor with the Mid-Atlantic Angel Group.  From 1996 to November 2003, he served as Executive Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Vishay Intertechnology with headquarters in Malvern, PA, operations in 17 countries, and 20,000 employees.  Formerly, Mr. Eden worked in private legal practice, as a small business management advisor, as an attorney for Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads and as legal counsel to Vishay.  A graduate of Harvard Law School, he is also on the Board of Directors for AIDS Law Project of Pennsylvania, Vice President of the Franklin Inn Club, Democratic Committee Person for the 8th Ward, member of the United Way Tocqueville Society, Executive Producer of Philly Live Arts-Fringe, and a member of the Center City Residents Association. 

Terry Gillen
Senior Advisor to the Mayor for Economic Development and
Executive Director of the Redevelopment Authority of Philadelphia

Ms. Gillen brings more than fifteen years of executive experience in economic development to the City of Philadelphia.  Before her appointment she was the Chief Executive Officer of the Collegiate Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development.  Previously, Ms. Gillen served as the Director of Policy for the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, Chief Operating Officer of National Community Capital Association, Senior Vice President of the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation from 1995-1998, and Deputy Commerce Director for the City of Philadelphia from 1992-1995. Ms. Gillen has a B.A. from the University of Rochester, an M.A. in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.  She also sits on the Board of Directors for Independence Blue Cross.   

Jay R. Goldstein, Board Vice Chairman
Founder, President and CEO of Valley Green Bank
Mr. Goldstein founded Valley Green Bank, a three-year old Pennsylvania chartered commercial bank headquartered in Northwest Philadelphia with approximately $100 million in assets.  While a partner at the law firm of Kleinbard, Bell and Brecker LLP, Mr. Goldstein served as Chairman of the Emerging Business Practice Group.  As a graduate of the American University, Washington College of Law, he began his legal career as an associate with the Philadelphia law firm of Wolf, Block, Schorr & Solis-Cohen in the Corporate Department. In addition to his professional activities, Mr. Goldstein has served as President of the Board of Directors of Mt. Airy USA, a community development corporation, and on the Board of the Philadelphia Commercial Development Corporation.  Mr. Goldstein was appointed by Mayor Nutter to co-chair the Mayor’s personnel committee which helped recruit the new administration’s cabinet and senior personnel. 

Alan Greenberger
Deputy Mayor for Economic Development 

A native of New York City and graduate of the School of Architecture at Rensselaer, he moved to Philadelphia in 1974 to join Mitchell/Giurgola Architects.  He became an associate of Mitchell/Giurgola in 1980, moved to Australia to join Mitchell/Giurgola & Thorpe, architects for the Australian Parliament House, and in 1986 he rejoined Mitchell/Giurgola (renamed MGA Partners in 1990) as a partner.  Mr. Greenberger was the lead designer on numerous MGA projects including the Department of State National Foreign Affairs Training Center, the West Chester University School of Music and Performing Arts Center, America on Wheels Museum, Lehigh University Linderman Library Renovation, Mann Center for the Performing Arts Master Plan and Pavilions, and the Centennial District Master Plan.  He was co-founder and past Chairman of the Design Advocacy Group of Philadelphia.  Mr. Greenberger also serves on the faculty of the Department of Architecture at Drexel University and the Department of City and Regional Planning at the University of Pennsylvania.   

William P. Hankowsky
Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Property Trust

Mr. Hankowsky joined Liberty Property Trust in January of 2001 as Chief Investment Officer.  In 2002, he was named president and in 2003 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer and elected Chairman of Liberty’s Board of Trustees.  He has served as Commerce Director for the City of Philadelphia and is a past President of the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation.  Mr. Hankowsky is the former Chairman of the Board for the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and currently serves on the boards of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, and the Board of Governors of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts.  With extensive experience in both the public and private real estate sectors, Mr. Hankowsky is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences and has been featured in a variety of media outlets. 

Michael I. Hauptman, AIA
Partner, Brawer & Hauptman Architects

A member of the American Institute of Architects, Mr. Hauptman received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania, is licensed to practice architecture in Pennsylvania and five other states plus the District of Columbia, and has National Council of Architectural Registration Board certification. Mr. Hauptman is an officer and a member of the Board of Trustees of Congregation Rodeph Shalom in Center City Philadelphia and is active on the Building Committee. He and his family have lived in Center City Philadelphia for over thirty years where he is on the Board of Directors of the Queen Village Neighbors Association. Mr. Hauptman co-chairs the Queen Village Zoning Committee and co-authored Queen Village’s design guidelines as Philadelphia’s first Neighborhood Conservation District.         

Alan P. Hoffmann
President, VITETTA Architects/Engineers

As president of VITETTA, Mr. Hoffmann is responsible for the general management of the 150 person architectural, engineering, planning, and interior design firm with offices in Philadelphia, PA; Marlton, NJ; Harrisburg, PA; San Antonio, TX; San Luis Obispo, CA; Orlando, FL; and Washington, D.C.  Mr. Hoffmann leads VITETTA’s policy and strategy team and is responsible for the expansion of the firm both through new geographic markets and new business classes.  He also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Director of Marketing and Controller for VITETTA.  Mr. Hoffmann is a graduate of Drexel University, is a member of the American Institute of Architects and Business Volunteers for the Arts and serves on the Board of Directors of North Philadelphia Health System, Vendemmia, and the Crown Key Yacht Club.  

William R. Miller, IV
CEO, Ross Associates, Inc.

Mr. Miller is a leading strategic communications consultant in the areas of public affairs, policy development, political organization/resource management, media message development and production and organizational change for corporations, government and non-profit organizations.  He founded Ross Associates in December 1981.  He has spent more than twenty years in various Philadelphia city government posts.  Mr. Miller was the co-founder of Governor Robert P. Casey’s Advisory Commission on African American Affairs and is a founding board member of the African American Chamber of Commerce.  He graduated from St. Joseph’s University, earned a master’s degree in Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania and attended Kent State Institute for Political Management. His community service work is widespread including serving on Comcast Corporation’s Community Advisory Board and raising funds for We Care Workshop, a church youth program in West Philadelphia.  Mr. Miller is a lifetime member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, the Campbell Washington Joppa Masonic Lodge and Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church.  

Donn G. Scott, Board Chairman  
Sales Director-GIB Wachovia

Since 2001, Mr. Scott has been responsible for servicing and developing new relationships in Government with a focus on School Districts, Municipalities, Authorities and States in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and parts of Maryland for Wachovia.  With an MBA from Temple University, he started his career with Wachovia in 1970.  His previous positions included Regional President for Philadelphia, Delaware County and the State of Delaware and he headed the Commercial Bank Group for Philadelphia, Maryland/Virginia and New England.  Mr. Scott serves as Co-Chairman of the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition and is a Board Member for Community College of Philadelphia Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club of Camden County, and Philadelphia’s Children First Fund.  He formerly served on the Board of Trustees of Lincoln University and as Chairman of the African American Museum in Philadelphia. 

Marilyn Jordan Taylor
Dean, PennDesign, University of Pennsylvania

Ms. Taylor, a distinguished and much admired practitioner, is Dean of The University of Pennsylvania’s PennDesign, one of the country’s leading schools of design.  With over 35 years at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, she is recognized worldwide as a thought leader in urban design using public space and infrastructure in the design of large-scale urban projects and civic initiatives and a woman pioneer in the fields of architecture, planning, and construction.   Ms. Taylor led her former firm in a variety of Urban Design & Planning projects such as New York’s East River Waterfront Master Plan and Columbia University’s Manhattanville Master Plan.  Taylor also founded her firm’s Airports and Transportation Practice with airport projects such as SkyCity at Hong Kong International Airport and the transformation of New York’s Farley Post Office to Moynihan Station. Taylor has served as a member of The Partnership for New York City, President of the American Institute of Architects (NYC Chapter), visiting professor at Harvard Graduate School of Design and is currently on the Advisory Board of the Penn Institute for Urban Research.     

William L. Wilson
Principal-in-Charge, Synterra Ltd.

Mr. Wilson founded Synterra Ltd., a site planning, landscape architecture, development planning and construction management firm almost 35 years ago.  In 1995, he founded Synterra Partners, a commercial, residential and hotel development firm. Today, Synterra Partners’ core business includes office, retail and residential developments including the 740-acre corporate center at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, 3020 Market Street, the former School Administration Building on the Ben Franklin Parkway and the Thaddeus Stevens Building at Broad and Spring Garden Streets.  Mr. Wilson is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Fine Arts in Landscape Architecture and the Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture.  He has served on the board of many organizations including the African American Museum in Philadelphia, Delaware Valley College, Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, Multicultural Affairs Congress, Philadelphia Zoo, Please Touch Museum and the University of the Arts. 

Diane Dalto Woosnam
Chairman, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts

A long time arts administrator, Ms. Woosnam is currently Chairman of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.  Previously, she served as Director of the Office of Arts and Culture for the City of Philadelphia, was Co-Chairman of the Arts, Culture and History Transition Committee for the Governor of Pennsylvania, Edward G. Rendell and Chaired or Co-Chaired three Transition Committees for Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter.  During her eight year tenure with the City of Philadelphia, The Avenue of the Arts development project became the centerpiece of the City’s redevelopment of its former commercial center.  Her office provided oversight for the formation of the Philadelphia Cultural Fund to sustain the vital arts infrastructure, the creation of the Marian Anderson Award, and the revitalization of the City’s Public Art and Art in City Hall programs. She currently serves on the Mayor’s Cultural Advisory Council and sits on the Boards of numerous local, regional and national organizations, including The Annenberg Center for Performing Arts, the Arden Theatre Company, The Philadelphia Orchestra, and The Philadelphia Art Alliance.  

Ellen Yin
Owner, Fork Restaurant and Fork:etc

Ms. Yin is co-Owner of Fork Restaurant, the acclaimed stylish American Bistro in Old City, Philadelphia and Fork:etc, the adjacent upscale gourmet prepared foods store.  She is also author of Forklore: Recipes and Tales from an American Bistro (Temple University Press, 2007) which outlines her ongoing search to create and maintain an American bistro.  Her passion for the restaurant business started during her school days when she worked as a server, bartender and in the kitchens of Philadelphia restaurants such as La Terrasse and the White Dog Café while attending University of Pennsylvania during the day.  After she earned her MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, Ms. Yin worked as a management consultant to the health care industry as well as at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in hospital administration.  She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Arden Theatre Company and the Old City District.    

Mario Zacharjasz, AIA
Co-founder and principal, PZS Architects, LLC; President of Puente Construction Enterprises, Inc.

Born in Cuba and raised in Puerto Rico, in 1982, Mr. Zacharjasz moved to Philadelphia to attend Temple University, where he earned his Architecture degree.  In 1992, he founded PZS Architects, LLC, a well-established firm of 25 working on some of Philadelphia's most exciting projects including a new elementary school in Kensington for the School District of Philadelphia and residential buildings including the Ayer on Washington Square and 10 Rittenhouse on Rittenhouse Square.  Recently appointed to the Mayor’s Commission for Construction Industry Diversity, Mr. Zacharjasz is also the President-Elect/Executive Vice President of the Philadelphia American Institute of Architects, and an executive board member and past board president of the Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf and on the Board of Managers for Moore College of Art & Design.  Mr. Zacharjasz focuses his energy on community sustainability, encouraging his partners, staff, and colleagues to partner with the wider community.
